Landscapes
Jean grew up beside a large lake and spent countless days fishing, camping, and exploring the bays and backwaters. She is drawn to water. She loves drifting in a quiet bay in the evening listening for the sound of a moose wading and being stirred by the soulful call of a loon.
The long daylight hours of the north create colorful palettes. She loves it when mountains, clouds, and water change color with the daylight and changing seasons. From her home, Jean watches the sunset behind the town on the other side of the lake, which is sometimes so soft and beautiful, and other times intense and vivid, especially following a storm. On windy days, she watches seagulls enjoy the wind as they float effortlessly.
Autumn is a season favored, the summer bugs are absent, but the warm air of the summer lingers into the evenings and nights. The changing colors of plants and trees bring a new experience daily. Leaves float through the air, and Jean anticipates the sparkle of frost and the feeling of peace that accompanies the first falling flakes of snow.
Places of such quiet and solitude are to be treasured, especially in today’s increasingly chaotic world. These places keep us calm and connected with what really matters. All of Jean’s experiences inspire her to capture scenes that bring her peace and pleasure.
